The Ladies that Lunch – ‘There’s Something in the Air’
The Ladies that Lunch, will be a ‘There’s Something in the Air’ affair this year. On arrival, all ladies will be treated to a glass of Veuve Clicqout Ponsardin Champagne to complement a delicious and elegant three-course meal prepared by renowned chef Floris Smit of Hotel Izulu and complimentary wine from The Stables Wine Estate during the scrumptious lunch.
Entertainment includes an interactive fashion show, showcasing beautiful perfumes from world leading brand names: hence the title, there’s something in the air! Local models will casually move around the elegantly set tables so that everyone will be able to marvel at the beautiful fragrances and fragrance-inspired designs. The models will be magnificently dressed by our local award-winning fashion designer Michelle Zorab. The models will be provided by Jenni Rivet from Jenergy!, fitness guru to the likes of Princess Diana and Liz Hurley.
The ladies will be treated to a 50 minute Q&A session with world renowned South African plastic surgeon Dr. Des Fernandes, anti aging skin care and plastic surgery specialist, and the developer of the Environ Skin Care range. Dr Des qualified M.B.; B.Ch at Witwatersrand University in 1966. He then worked in KwaZulu Natal before furthering his training at the London Heart Hospitals as a cardio-thoracic surgeon. He became a fellow of Edinburgh College of Surgeons in 1973 and returned to Cape Town to work with Prof. Christiaan Barnard. After some time he returned to the plastic surgery field and succeeded Dr. David Davies as head of the University of Cape Town’s Cleft, Lip and Palate Unit at Red Cross War Memorial Hospital in 1979, a position he held for 21 years. At this time he joined David Davies at his private Cosmetic Surgery practice. Dr Des Fernandes is also the author of two publications dealing with both aesthetic and aesthetic surgery of the face. South African cosmetic giant Environ Skin Care, will include give-away spot prizes and gift hampers during the day’s proceedings.
