Ballito Lifestyle Centre Black Tie, Ballroom Gown but NO shoes Gala Dinner – ‘Glamorous Affair’

The highlight of Umdwebo 2007 Festival, and the signature event, will occur on the Saturday night, when the Barefoot Black Tie & Ballroom Gown Beach Gala Dinner will take place on Salt Rock Beach. As the moon rises over the sea, the sea will welcome our distinguished barefooted guests, dressed in black ties and ballroom gowns (but no shoes), to an exquisite fantasy setting.

Upon reaching the sand, the guests will float up the beach to the marquee, draped in splendour of a bygone era, dripping in ambient lights, and waiting waiters will cater to the guests every whim. For Umdwebo 2007, the theme will be a ‘A Glamorous Affair’ and guests will be transported by award winning East Coast Radio DJ Trevor Williams to the music and theme of the magical 80’s & 70’s. Trevor will entertain the guests as they dance and disco the night away under the stars, dancing bare foot on the beach, to much loved songs.

A superb, five-course meal, prepared with the utmost care by the Dolphin Coast's most highly acclaimed caterer, Jacqui Rey from Food Matters, will be served at elegantly set tables, complimented by a unique selection of wines.

For this grand occasion Salt Rock beach will be spectacularly transformed as never seen before, through the use of visual effects, specialist décor and breathtaking draping, by the award winning hand of Kathryn Hulett.

The Stables Wine Estate, KZN’s wine of origin, will serve our own award winning wines to compliment the fantastical setting and food.
